Foldable gift box(also called collapsible box):
This box style is now the top popular design in Europe and America,Australia,Canada also Russia market, with it's advantage of flat packing and easy to assemble,it lookes exactly the same as the magnetic/book shape box when it fold up/closed.
Almost of our clients are like this type as it can save a lots of space and shipping cost by flat packing. Usually closed by magnet or ribbon. Commonly used for many industries, such as wedding dress gift boxes, fashion shoe box, large beauty gift boxes etc.

Magnetic Gift Box(also called book shape box):
The box is made with magnet flap closure, sometimes there is also ribbon included to close the boxes. When you open it, it is just like open a book. That's why some people call it book shape style boxes. The most popular one is the box with magnet closure, like the pink box show below.
Nowdays, the box with ribbon clouse is more and more popular in custom gift box packaging. These boxes are commonly used in apparel packaging boxes, cosmetic packaging box, perfume gift boxes, essential oil box, electronic device packaging boxes, etc.

Clamshell box(also called flip top box):
This box is slightly different from the above magnetic box in the way of closing, it no need built in the magnets at lid but can be closure by itself,with a inner edge /shoulder at base part.
It's some like the hinged box,but it no need metallic hinges, the top lid and below bottom is connected by facestock paper and lining glued with the solid substrate.
If you don't want the lid completely open, it can glued one or two ribbon band at two short side to hold the lid.

Lid-off gift box(also called lid and base box):
This box style contains two parts, lid and bottom carton. But considering different aesthetic standard, there are three models chose by different clients. One model is like the first picture, but lid height is a little large than the bottom so the lid can cover the base. It is normally used for box height less than 5cm.
For box higher than 5cm, we normally make the lid 3cm to save the material cost. That is box with lid not all covered the base.
The third one is lid all covered the base,just like the IPhone box, the lid will slide up slowly when you try openning it.Poplular used in below industries: electronic packaging boxes, wine gift boxes, jewelry gift boxes, cosmetic gift boxes, chocolate gift boxes, handmade gifts packaging etc.

Drawer gift box(also called sliding box, pull out box):
A sliding paper box is ideal for small products. Usually it has a ribbon or tassel puller, thumb button to pull out /open it. A clear PVC window is available for you to present the product inside.
It also can combine into a bigger interesting box with serveral small drawer box,make the printing design completed and attractive, with a very good function for storage.
We can always see this drawer box style used for jewelry packaging, beauty products packaging boxes, chocolates box and other small luxury gift box.

Round Tube Box(also called hat box):
It main divide into two models, the flat edge and rolled-edge round box.
For the flat edge round box is handmade,the lid slight bigger than base so cover to close it, it very polular used in luxury flower gift packaging, with a rope or ribbon handle to easy carry.
The rolled-edge tube box also named cylinder box, which is machine made, and the diameter usually in small size, it popular used in tea packaging, coffee packaging,cosmetic gift box packaging.

Corrugated Mailer Box:
Normally It's made by 3 layers corrugated carton paper ( like BE flute, WE flute or better KE flute) laminated with CCNB grey board( like 250gsm, 300gsm, 350gsm).
It's a fashion style for onliner shop owners or companies to ship their products inside domestic or overseas. The most luxury design is custom print both inside and outside of this mailer box.
But if you want to save cost, you can keep the outside natural brown but inside printed with your logo and company information. In that way, when your clients open the box, they can see your brand easily.

Step 2: Choose Printing Colors or Specialty Paper
The CMYK model, or four color processes, is one of the most common models currently used in color printing. CMYK stands for cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Newspapers, magazines and various other products are printed using CMYK.
If it is about your logo color, we would suggest you Pantone color printing. It is also call spot color printing.
What is the difference between using four-color ink CMYK printing or direct using PANTONE standard spot color ink printing?
CMYK is overprinted in dots by up to four inks; the use of spot inks is printed by a single ink (solid print, 100% dots). For the above reasons, the former is obviously gray and not bright; the latter is bright and consistent.
If your packaging design is simple without colorful patterns, just a silver or gold logo at top lid, with a solid color as background, we will advise you choose one type of special paper for facestock directly then do hot stamping,embossed or UV finishing for your logo to make it be more outstanding and attractive.

Step 3: Choose Box Surface Finishing
After printing, there are various surface treatment options available for you to make the surface more special and luxury, like film lamination, embossing,foil stamping, spot UV coating,glittering,laser cut etc.
1) FILM LAMINATION
PP film lamination is normally the first step after printing. As it can effectively protect the printing color from being scratching and also protect the face paper from damaging.
Except normal glossy and matte lamination, we also provide anti-scratch film lamianation. It looks the same as matte lamination. But the protective effect is much better. It is specially used on black gift box. As on black surface, you can easily left finger mark once touched by hand. But with the anti-scratch film, the finger mark is not easily left on the box surface. Besides, all these lamination can make the gift box water-proof.

2) HOT FOIL STAMPING
This finish can make your brand metallic looking in different colors. The most popular design is hot stamping in gold or silver color. The cost is calculated based on the area of the stamping part. The larger square meters of stamping, the higher the cost.

3) SPOT UV
UV finishing is a spot glossy finishing, that can make specific design more bright and reflecting. We can make the box with full graphics UV coating, or spot UV coating. But since the price is also calculated by area, it is better to use spot UV to highlight the brand logo or some important information.
4) EMBOSSING / DEBOSSED
This finishing is used for raise or sunken the logo or graphics so that people can easily see the information or elements that you want to present. Most people like to combine this finshing with hot foil stamping or UV treatment, so that the brand can be not only outstanging but metallic looking or glossy. Some unexperienced factory may find it hard to match the embossing part with hot stamping part, but we have solutions to make embossing or debossed finishing is a perfect match on the boxes.
Step 4: Choose box inside tray
